Fraternity’s annual haunted house draws crowds for a night of scares and school spirit.
The University of the Pacific campus was transformed into a scene straight out of a horror film Wednesday night as the Beta Theta Pi fraternity opened their doors for their annual haunted house. This year’s theme, “Zombie Apocalypse,” plunged visitors into a chilling post-apocalyptic landscape teeming with the undead — all brought to life by the fraternity’s members.
Open to students, faculty, and the greater Stockton community, the event drew a large crowd eager to celebrate Halloween in classic Pacific fashion. Attendees were met with dim lighting, eerie soundtracks, fog-filled hallways, and fraternity members in full makeup and costume, acting the part of zombies lurking in every corner.
From the moment guests stepped inside, they were immersed in the theme. The haunted house featured multiple rooms designed to mimic scenes from an outbreak zone — from abandoned laboratories and ruined safehouses to chaotic streets overrun by the infected. The Beta Theta Pi brothers spent weeks designing props, crafting special effects, and rehearsing scare routines to ensure a fully immersive experience.
The event, hosted on October 29, continued the fraternity’s tradition of organizing interactive community events during the fall semester. Many attendees praised the production value and attention to detail, with some calling it one of the best student-run haunted houses on campus in recent years.
The “Zombie Apocalypse” haunted house marks another successful year for Beta Theta Pi’s fall programming, reinforcing the fraternity’s presence as a key contributor to campus life at the University of the Pacific.
As the night ended and the last guests made their way through the final dark corridor, laughter and nervous chatter filled the air outside the house — proof that Beta Theta Pi’s blend of creativity, teamwork, and seasonal spirit had struck the right chord once again.
