Located in the Stonecreek Village shopping center, Nick the Greek is the newest restaurant to hit the scene, serving a flavorful taste of Greek food. Enjoy this fast-casual spot that offers gyros, souvlaki, falafel, and Greek desserts.
Nick the Greek has become a growing national chain and the opening of its newest location in Stockton marks the continued expansion throughout the Central Valley. In a press release statement about the opening of Nick the Greek, the franchise owner, Bobby Singh, viewed Stockton as “the perfect next step,” and that the city’s “diverse community and passion for flavorful, culturally rich food make it a natural fit for Nick the Greek.”
The restaurant officially opened its doors on August 26th and welcomed customers with free lunch on that day from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The brand currently has over 85 restaurants located throughout different states in the country and plans to reach 100 stores by the end of the year. This ambitious expansion is part of the founders’ mission to serve authentic Greek cuisine to as many communities as they can in a way that does not compromise the quality of the menu.
As for a quick history on Nick the Greek, the brand was established in 2014 by three cousins that were inspired by several trips to Greece that left them wanting a quality gyro back in the United States. Unable to find a restaurant that met their cravings, they opened up their first restaurant in San Jose, California. The name of the restaurant is also a reference to the three cousins – Big Nick, Little Nick, and Baby Nick Tsigaris.
Other than being a sit-in restaurant, Nick the Greek also offers catering services for events. They offer both catering packages with pre-set meals – which gives the customer the choice of up to four different proteins – and a la carte options.
The opening of a new Nick the Greek in Stockton gives a new choice to dine at. Being close in proximity to Pacific, it is sure to become a favorite among students that may be interested in trying a new, unique cuisine. Nick the Greek will be a wonderful addition to the rich and flavorful palate of the city – the benefit of being a culturally diverse community.
Nick the Greek is a great place to have a small lunch hangout with friends, or to dine alone for the pleasant restaurant ambience. Make Nick the Greek the next restaurant to try while in Stockton – as one bite from their gyros will have anyone coming back again to have more of that authentic, traditional, and delicious Greek street food.
