A weekend of student talent, sharp storytelling, and live theatre magic.

The Theatre Tigers took center stage this weekend as they presented their highly anticipated Fall Theatre Showcase. The event ran November 21st and 22nd, and offered students, faculty, and community members a chance to experience an evening of fresh, engaging performances crafted and brought to life entirely by Pacific’s own theatre enthusiasts.

This year’s showcase featured a dynamic selection of short plays written by acclaimed playwrights Matthew Hanf and Chris McKerracher, whose works are known for sharp wit, emotional depth, and strong character-driven storytelling. The Theatre Tigers embodied these scripts with enthusiasm, spending weeks rehearsing, shaping performances, and building a cohesive production that highlights both the humor and heart within each piece.

Pacific’s DeMarcus Brown Studio was transformed throughout the night as actors shifted between comedic sketches, dramatic scenes, and ensemble performances. Each play brought its own flavor, allowing audiences to experience a variety of tones and narrative styles in one sitting. The structure of the showcase made it ideal for viewers who enjoy fast-paced theatre with lots of creative variety.

Behind the curtain, the Theatre Tigers had been hard at work coordinating lighting, sound, props, and transitions to ensure a polished and immersive experience. Student directors and stage managers had carefully shaped pacing and movement for each scene, while the technical crew had built clean, versatile setups that allowed the plays to unfold seamlessly.

For the Pacific community, the Fall Showcase serves as an important moment in the academic year. It celebrates student talent, strengthens the presence of the performing arts on campus, and gives theatre students a platform to apply what they have learned in a real performance environment. The showcase also provides opportunities for non-majors to explore theatrical work, fostering a broader appreciation for performance and collaboration across campus. With its mix of professional writing, student creativity, and tightly coordinated production work, the Theatre Tigers’ Fall Showcase gave an entertaining and memorable night of live theatre.
