Cafe 1851

A new cafe on the block!

If you live or spend a lot of time across the bridge on the Stockton North Campus, the opening of Cafe 1851 is a warmly welcomed addition.  Freshly opened this semester with a grand opening this past Tuesday, this cafe is perfect for a quick pit-stop on your way to classes or a place to grab a small snack.  Their hours are Monday - Friday: 12pm-8pm, and they are located in the front of Calaveras Hall.  Meal plan is accepted!

Inside, you can find refrigerated drinks such as Gatorade, iced tea, and sodas, as well as a small cafe for hot drinks like coffee, hot chocolate, and tea.  The same hot and cold grab-and-go lunches found at the Grove and DUC–such as the salads and sandwiches, can also be purchased here.  There is also a small selection of pastries and many different kinds of energy bars.  There is not any seating within the cafe itself, but there are chairs and tables outside under a covered patio.

This cafe is not a substitute or North campus version of the Grove, by any means.  It is not a place to restock groceries or household items–such as cleaners, batteries, etc., as you will not find any there.  However, it is a convenient place if you find yourself in need of a quick bite to eat or a hot drink to combat the cold, rainy weather on your way to your afternoon classes.  It could also be a neat spot to have a coffee chat with a friend.
