Finals Week: Tips from Nutricat
Finals week is almost here! If you know you will be at the library for hours at a time, plan ahead by packing snacks in your book bag or allowing yourself meal breaks. Since your brain needs fuel to concentrate and focus, having small snacks throughout the day helps to keep your energy up without relying on energy drinks or coffee. Whether you are up late studying or cramming through meal time, here are some simple things you can grab to help you power through those study guides, projects, and papers.
Craving something sweet? The Grove sells Kind Bars, which are made from all-natural whole nuts, fruits, and whole grains. As one of my favorite grab and go snacks, KIND bars contain fiber, protein and antioxidants, satisfying your sweet tooth while curbing your appetite. Not in the mood for a snack? Try sipping on hot or cold green tea with a little honey. It gives you the sweetness you want plus a little caffeine boost.
Need something salty? Pick up a pack of hummus with pretzel thins from The Grove. The salty and crunchy duo will satisfy your craving while filling you up. Additional options include a small bag of air-popped popcorn, cup of broth-based soup or low-fat string cheese.
