Tiger Growls: Missing Pacific

“I miss UOP a lot. The comradery, living on campus at North Hall, going to classes, and playing sports like water polo, golf and swimming. And of course, staying out of trouble.”

“I would say that what I miss the most is having such easy access to amazing professors, being able to go to class and learn new stuff every single day, and generally being able to have so many friends living so close that you can meet up any time or just bump into each other on campus.”

“I miss the football program. When it was terminated, all Tigers, past and present, lost a lot of cache. Jon Gruden and Pete Carroll were part of our legacy, and now all of that is gone.”
@Steve Moyer,
c.o. 1981
“Well, I definitely miss the football program! We weren’t that great, but we had a phenomenal bunch of guys that I played with—namely Ryan Benjamin, Aaron Turner, Darryl Hobbs, Troy Kopp, Jason Edwards, Greg Bishop, Jason Schouten, etc….We were the ‘Flying Tigers,’ and we received quite a bit of national recognition that year. I will never forget playing at the University of Washington when they were ranked No. 1 in the country in 1991 and playing against some unknown running back named Marshall Faulk at San Diego State. We had a lot of great relationships on those teams, and we believed in each other. There was always a sense of school pride, and we had great fans! It really saddens me that the football program was eliminated…hopefully one day they will bring it back!”

“I miss being able to see my friends every single day and feeling like I’m part of the Pacific community. I wish I could come to Homecoming.”
@Juliene Sesar,

“Since I played football, I naturally miss our Homecoming football games. But, I also have great memories of Band Frolic. It was a highlight of my times at Pacific. Great fun and great memories!”
@Duane Isetti,

“I miss the Rathskeller; it was this awesome place to eat under the UC apartments. When they replaced it with that store [the Grove], it was a crime. They also used to show films at the movie theater in the UC for $2 for students. The best part were the Looney Tunes that aired before the movies. I also miss attending the weekly concerts at the Conservatory with all of my music major friends. Also, the dean’s office knew me by name.”
@Marci Baun,
c.o. 1990
“I miss living with 33 other guys.”
@RJ Aitken,
